The Trina Schart Hyman
Memorial Endowment Fund
to benefit the
Open Fields School

I am honored to have been asked to serve on the advisory committee for the Trina Schart Hyman Memorial Endowment Fund to benefit the Open Fields School, a pet project of Trina’s while she was alive. Since Trina was my inspiration for becoming an illustrator, it is gratifying to be able to give something back.

The Trina Schart Hyman Memorial Endowment Fund was started by Trina's friend, Tomie dePaola, in 2005. With his initial donation, and those from others, we hoped to reach $50,000 by the end of 2007. I am happy to announce that we have met that goal, thanks to YOUR generosity!

Click here for more information on the Endowment Fund, and the Open Fields School, and make a donation if you are able. One thing Tomie dePaola said that I believe to be true: Nothing would make Trina happier than to have thousands of people send in fifty cents each. Truly, no donation is too small. With your help, we can make this happen.

Best regards,
