The Mysterious Birman
" Originally, in the Temple of LaoTsun the guardians were yellow-eyed long haired white cats. Tsun-Kyan-Kse,the blue-eyed goddess of the temple, was made of gold. The faithful loving companion of the head priest, Mun-Ha, was a beautiful cat named Sinh.
One day the temple was attacked and Mun-Ha was killed. As the priest lay dying, Sinh stood on his master's body as the priest's soul left, guarding him. As he faced the goddess, the faithful cat’s white fur took on a golden cast, his eyes turned as blue as the eyes of the goddess, and his face, legs and tail became the color of earth. However, his paws, where they touched the priest, remained white as a symbol of purity. Seven days later, Sinh died, taking the soul of his master, Mun-Ha to paradise. The remaining cats in the temple becoming similarly colored. "
Birmans are cats that tend to bond very strongly with their humans. The "supervisors " of the cat world, they are never far from their human families and can usually be found in an available lap or lending a helping paw. Extremely intelligent, they can be playful, but depend on their pet humans for companionship and love. They enjoy nothing more than a good snuggle under the covers at night as they purr their owners to sleep.
