Hi to all who ventured this far. I've had such fun building this music web site, playing with graphics and audio files and learning the "dreaded" html (hyper text markup language), that I wanted to share some of my personal favorites, music and otherwise. First on the list must be my family since they have been so patient over the weeks/months while I labor at the computer. The music you are listening to is "Fanfare For The Common Man", adapted from Aaron Copland by the rock group, Emerson, Lake & Palmer. It is the 'boat opener' theme song for the Maine Attraction WaterSki Team, the show skiing traveling troupe from the Square Pond WaterSki Club. Our family has been performing with them for the past 20 summers along with 25 others from the Sanford area in southwestern Maine. The Grand Pyramid photo, courtesy of WaterSki magazine photographer, Jim Marshall, features my daughter Brianna on the right middle tier, and my son Derek and versatile husband Gordon on the left of the base. My oldest son Rob is in the Jumps & Flips photo, performing a spread eagle off the jump ramp. It is my privilege to coordinate the sound for each act, as well as attempt to function in the combined role of announcer/sound tech. It's definitely a challenge trying to watch the show, call the acts, and play the appropriate music with sound effects simultaneously.
