Photographic images do not have to be a literal representation. In fact, some would say that artistry begins where realism ends. For the images in this gallery, I provide an interpretation of a subject and use creative license. They are composite images, two or more images combined. These are not new. The first was well over 100 years ago when someone made the first double exposure. I have combined images in the camera and the darkroom for years and do this now digitally as well. All images in this gallery evolved with thought. I appreciate the textures found in nature. Sometimes I combine one of these textures with another photographic image. Lighting, exposure, and attention to detail and compostion all still apply with these interpretations, only more so. Most of these images have won professional awards including Best in Show and Fuji Masterpiece Awards.
