The Barrington Public Library now offers a variety of databases, some of which are accessible from the library network, and others are accessible directly from your home using your library card number as your login. This number is located on the back of your library card. These databases contain full text journal articles, government documents, ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) documents, current medical information via MEDLINE, papers and proceedings of academic conferences and more. These resources are invaluable tools for students and researchers alike. Many of these items have never before been accessible through your local public library. MapsOnline.net - This site provides access to the Town's base map; you can create tax maps, view an individual parcel by name, address, or map & lot number, and create and print an abutter's list. It also shows public facilities, landmarks, and important places.

There are general databases containing magazine and journal articles in full text as well as databases geared especially for high school, middle school & primary school students. You can also access Novelist, a wonderful database that will help you to match your reading interests to new books and authors as well as giving book reviews, lists of books by authors, and series titles in order. You can also search Newspaper Source for articles from over 200 newspapers!
