PLEASE NOTE: You must be a tax-paying resident of Barrington (or renter), in order to get a FREE library card. Out of town cards may be obtained, in person, at the library for a fee of $40.00 per year. You must be age 6 or above to get a library card. Your new card will be mailed to you at the address provided below; the first time you use your new card, you will be REQUIRED to show a photo ID (adults) with your Barrington address on it (or a bill/mail sent to that address with your name on it plus photo ID) Children under 18 must have a parental signature on the new card before it can be used. The signing parent is taking responsibility for any overdue fees or lost material fees the child may accrue. NH law is such that records of materials checked out may only given be to the card holder; this privacy also extends to children. Parents who do not wish to extend such privacy to their children should simply check out all family items on the parent card. Every person in your family age 6 or above may apply for a card.
The library is currently in a contest for $25,000...the library that gets the greatest percentage increase in new card holders from Nov. 2007-Nov. 2008 will win! Your application can help move us towards that goal.
